KORUA was born from a group of friends, who happened to be traveling snowboard nerds in our 30’s. On a trip to Japan in 2012 they witnessed the country's thriving snow-surf culture and their specifically “built for deep powder” boards. This spoke to their r individual riding styles and interests. So when the opportunity arose to start their own brand, it was clear that the focus would lie on making boards that were easy-to-ride in their home mountains — the Alps, and that would turn exceptionally well. At the core of every KORUA board, is a sidecut that allows you to carve like no others on hard groomers, and a shape that lets you float through powder with ease. They truly are great all-round snowboards.

Pencil

Swiss Army Knife of Snowboards

Versatile and reliable, the Pencil is a genuine all-mountain board designed to move seamlessly between groomers and powder. Its well-balanced outline, thoughtful sidecut, and refined shaping make it an ideal choice for riders seeking one board that thrives in every condition. A long-standing favorite in the Classic Line, it continues to deliver confidence and consistency across the entire mountain.

PERSONALITY

With a slight swallowtail, the Pencil offers a playful release out the back without sacrificing edge hold or torsional stability. The taper creates a responsive, nimble ride that feels shorter and quicker edge to edge. Its pointed nose carries speed smoothly out of deep snow turns, and also helps with effortless float in deep snow.

THE DETAILS

The Pencil features our FLOAT CAMBER, which curves into a rocker shape in the nose. This profile helps you stay on top in deep powder while maintaining speed throughout the turn. The camber under-foot offers grip and stability on hard-pack and in variable conditions, while the early rise in the nose allows for an easy initiation of turns.

Sizing

This chart shows the range in what each size can handle. It is never our intention to categorize riders and their preferences. Our philosophy of snowboarding is to try new shapes, lengths, widths, and to keep an open mind for alternative riding experiences; however, we do have some limits to consider so that your board will work as it was designed to.

Your weight plays a major role in how the board will flex, and your shoe size will affect toe and heel drag when turning. The below size chart is for reference only, as our recommendations may vary depending on your stance and riding ability.
