For 44 years, i-D has been a defining voice in fashion, identity, ideas, and culture. Its distinct covers have featured over 300 icons and played a role in launching the careers of some of the world’s most influential talent. Now, in 2025, i-D enters a new era—driven by its founding principle: originate – don’t imitate. The first cover of this reinvention tells a story no other magazine can: spotlighting a future icon who isn't famous (yet).

The Spring/Summer 2025 edition explores the thrill of newness, uncertainty, and—most of all—strangers. It features three cover stars who originally appeared on i-D as complete unknowns (in 1986, 2012, and now 2025).

Meet Enza Khoury: a high school senior and budding actress from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She was discovered through an extensive nationwide talent search led by legendary casting director Jennifer Venditti. “I just found her to be very mesmerizing,” Venditti recalls. “I want to hear what she wants to do in the world.” Enza is also a passionate gamer, an activist against transphobic legislation in her state, and works shifts at her local movie theater. This issue steps into Enza’s world—on her terms.
