Pilgrim Surf + Supply began as a shop in early 2012, opening its doors on a quiet corner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, near long-standing local businesses. Over time, the shop evolved into a community hub for surfers, artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, and friends, blending business with a welcoming gathering space.
Not long after, the Pilgrim clothing brand was launched, collaborating with a few small factories in New York’s Garment District. Around the same period, Pilgrim partnered with Beams of Japan to launch a residency in Tokyo, proving their ability to expand in innovative ways. This partnership has since led to the opening of stores in Tokyo and Kyoto and the growth of their apparel line.
Pilgrim works closely with small factories and manufacturers, using recycled and upcycled fabrics whenever possible and maintaining low order volumes to minimize waste. These strong relationships enable them to create collections featuring unique fabrics, heritage-inspired designs, and a focus on durability and functionality, with meticulous attention to detail at every stage of production.
